Pandora- 2

Close up of center.  This is literally the first time I have ever painted a human figure.  I confess I am really proud of how this came out.  It's hard to see here but she is surrounded by wisps of flame.  I am hoping I can capture it better when she's fully dry and I can take her outside for a proper photoshoot.

Pandora

Today I created a painting unlike any I have ever done before.  She is beautiful but I as yet am uncertain what to call her.  I hope to better capture her on camera in sunlight as I did Stardust but I simply can't wait to show her off a bit.

**Edit**
I have since learned her name is Pandora. I think it's appropriate.

Stardust in Sunlight 2

Stardust in Sunlight

The weather was so nice today that I decided to take Stardust outside for a photo shoot on the recommendation of a classmate, to see if I could better capture her.  The results I think are fantastic!

Andromeda 2

Detail of Andromeda's heart (center)

Andromeda

So I woke up around 6:30 this morning and couldnt get back to sleep.  The muse said paint, and I never ignore  that command as it is elusive, and  Andromeda was born.  Like all of what I consider my best works, she evolved completely on accident.  She started as the beginings of a geisha but due to a serendipitous mixing of paint combined with an equally accidental brush stroke she decided to be something else entirely.  So I guess Bob Ross was right, there are no mistakes only happy accidents.

Boots

A pencil sketch I did for an art class.  I'm not gonna lie, I'm really proud of it!  I don't normally have the patience to sit still long enough to sketch this detailed.

Fires of Heaven

Ok for some reason I can't fathom google is insisting on loading Fires vertical instead of how it should be horizontal. Sorry! Picture it rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise.  Anyway Fires was born just after Reflections at the request of my best friend.  She's not one I particularly connect with but she's lovely in her way.  When Sarah moved back to Michigan however Fires couldn't come with her.  She's now living with my aunt who loves her.

Stardust

Now we come to the baby of the family and the most difficult to capture properly on camera.

STARDUST

She's still with me and she's a close second to Reflections. It's very difficult to see all her colors here.  She's one you just have to see in person, sparkling in the sun, to truly appreciate.

Tides of Time 2

I do however love this particular part of Tides. This is the one spot we get along.

Tides of Time

Ah this one...Tides of Time I believe I ended up naming her. This one is kind of the black sheep of the family, I had wanted her to be something else. I had had a vision but she refused to conform to it. Thus the choppy waters and crazy horizon line. We just never could agree, me and Tides. She ended up as a gift to a nice woman who adored her. As a side note she was one of only 2 paintings ever made in California. Her sister who I loved resides with an ex and I have no pictures of her. :(

Reflections

Reflections- Without a doubt my favorite child. Yes this mommy does play favorites. Painted around the same time as Fires, she was also the first to be sold though it pained me to part with her. Funny story here, my mom was good friends with the people who bought her and was so upset that without my knowledge bought her back! "Grandma" kept her for awhile before giving her back as a housewarming gift.  She's now once again on my living room wall where she will be staying.
